Fun with Cardboard!

2 weeks feels like a long time in between seeing everyone, so we were so happy to be together at the Cambie Community Centre again. It was great to check in and see how folks were doing and what they were up to.
Today we brought a ton of cardboard - different weights plus glue guns! We wanted to explore mask making and/or using cardboard to create sculpture! Cardboard is a cool material that feels, fun and forgiving and often FREE! Materials that are recyclable and free breeds such freedom to create something with no guilt of waste!
We shared the work of Wayne White and his massive cardboard masks. We challenged the group to create an armature, and we will continue to work on these the next time we are at the community centre. 2 hours goes by fast and sometimes it's nice to have a bit more time to work on something.
Even though we also brought back the stuff for patches, the crew jumped right in working in cardboard: on a lollipop, a skull and masks based on anime characters, foxes and flowers! We love Wednesdays!
