patches can be used to convey messages. it's fun to fly your personal flag at events like pride, concerts, festivals, protests or actions!
using canvas, fabric or felt as the base, folks can create patches using paint, iron on letters and or stencilling.
these patches can be attached to anything using safety pins and removed for washing or to add to another bag or jacket.

mini-zines can convey a story or an issue that is important to you. they can be easily carried around, handed out and left in random places.
experimenting with a colour copier and distortion, drawing, text, and imagery folks will use one one piece of 8x11 paper to make an 8 page zine!

A linocut is a relief printing technique where a design is carved into a sheet of linoleum. The raised, uncarved areas are then inked and pressed onto paper or fabric to create a print.

Today we will work on creating multi-media PRIDE flags with messaging and imagery using paint, fabric, and sewing!
We will also have SNACKS!
In hopes to invite new folks to the group we have an easy access project to consider what 'pride' might mean to individuals using text, imagery or both. PRIDE for queer folks is not about capitalism or pink washing it is about the ability to express who we are in safety and celebration.
