Zines!

Today was the first day at the library. We felt so welcomed!

We get to work in a cool semi-circle space with big windows - all to ourselves!

It turns out only 2 folks had ever been to this library...

so, after check in, Rajiv gave us a tour of the library, and of particular

interest was the manga section and games!

And then we talked a bit about zines, the history of zines and styles and sizes and then folks jumped right in drawing, writing and researching!

Manga was a great inspiration as was computer gaming and personal expression. It was handy to have books right there to photocopy for the zine projects.

It was also great to spend more time together getting to know interests and talking about life, school, art projects and workshops in the future.

We have decided to take on mask making and/or cardboard sculpture with the idea that we can have patch making at the ready as well.

Some people even signed up for their library card!
